what is Psych-K?We are programmed by our subconscious minds to behave in certain ways. This amounts to our being approximately 95% driven from the unconscious in behaving in certain ways in situations or in making decisions. Often based upon past events or learned behaviours, we find ourselves unable to change and move forward as we may indeed like to.
The human nervous system is Neuroplastic, meaning it can change. Neoroplasticity in the context of Psych-K refers to the ability to rewire your brain to change old patterns and the possibility to reorganise its structure. As a tool it helps enable individuals to change patterns of thinking that lead to repeated patterns of behaviour such as limiting self-beliefs and negative perceptions. Psych-K allows and enables deep-seated changes to occur in the subconscious through a guided stimuli and response method involving the crossing of the left and right hemispheres of the body/brain. By balancing left and right hemispheres of the brain, we are able to create what is referred to in Psych-K as a whole-brained state. This allows for a new level of acceptance that is a neurological shift providing acceptance with the belief or perception that supports a positive way forward. |
Making changeYou may come with ideas about what you would like to change using Psych-K, whatever your aims and goals of therapy may be. This is of course useful but not at all essential.
The usual way that I work is to incorporate all the techniques that I have as and where they seem most needed and appropriate. We can most certainly focus on Psych-K if that is what you would like to do. Through Psych-K we are able to change the way your body aligns with beliefs and statements but additionally it's possible to transform the way that you perceive a situation, a person, a past event, a dilemma. I would first make sure that you are balanced and then simply ask your body by means of muscle testing or dowsing whether your body/mind agrees with and supports that statement or perception that you are committed to work towards. In your conscious mind you already feel sure that you believe or support a certain way of perceiving, but the subconscious mind may have its own deep seated pattern or understanding that is blocking you from going forward. This is where we can make change and simply reset the body to support your belief or perception. |
