Counselling or Talk Therapy |
How it worksCounselling is a way of creating a space for yourself in order to clarify your perception of a situation or relationship. It’s a safe place where you can look at different options and voice your fears, anger or tears without judgement. I am able to teach techniques that can be used between sessions to release emotions that may emerge and to increase progress towards our negotiated outcomes. If you feel stuck, starting the process can inspire positive change and faster than you think, you may find yourself reassessing and looking at things in a completely new and empowered way. Counselling sessions are available in Stow-Cum-Quy (CB25 9 AJ) or in the Heart of Cambridge city. Please feel free to call or email me to find out more about how I work.

RelationshipsAre you looking for a non-judgemental and discreet forum in which you may share deeply what's on your mind? There are times where it may be difficult to find an impartial friend, colleague or family member with whom you may share. Often there is just too much at state. If you feel that you would like the time and space to unravel what is going on in your relationship, I can provide you with the support and space that you need to gain clarity about what your goals are and what can help you to save your relationship . If you feel that you have reached a point where things are already in motion and you are in a dark place and need help to get yourself strong and to reconstruct your life, then I can help you to get back in touch with the empowered you, or to get your Mojo back. Relationships are challenging and essential and can affect other family relationships and interfere with work. It's great to provide yourself with outside support so that you don't need to lean on friends and family. |
TeenagersStraight talking with a neutral and non-judgemental person can really help a young person to gain new insights and perspective on their situation. An unhealthy emphasis on body image caused by social media can be a source of depression and anxiety. Teenagers may be faced with exams, decisions, essays, job applications and interviews, all of which can produce stress. When stress gets to the point where it is interfering with sleep or affecting quality of life and key relationships this is the time to seek help. I offer and teach a number of effective techniques that young people respond well to such as Havening Techniques, EFT tapping and Mindfulness for use between sessions and as ongoing life skills. I'm also happy to keep it to 'talk therapy'. Please call for a chat or email me if you have a teenager that could benefit from counselling. |
