How does it work?Havening Techniques is a Psychosensory Therapy that involves light touch that produces delta waves (brain waves) that are closely associated with REM sleep. The delta waves produce chemical chain reactions in the Amygdala that switch off the signals within the brain that cause emotional and physical distress. Also referred to as AMPA-receptor depotentiation occurring deep within the Amygdala. Havening Techniques also uses bi-lateral eye movements which have a direct effect on the way the brain processes information. Putting it simply, the logical left side and the emotional right side of the brain are able to work together or help each other to resolve and let go of what is holding you back. The effect is often very calming. |
