Depression - It's ever so common
Considered to be more painful than physical pain, emotional pain is not to be taken lightly or brushed off with a "get on with it" attitude. You may feel trapped or be simply putting on a bright face. If you've found yourself in this difficult place there are solutions in Hypnotherapy, NLP, EFT and Counselling that can help you to shift out of it.
Depression is not your fault or anyone else's. If it's to do with a relationship, (family, partner, work) it is not within your power to change the other person, but what you can do is to empower yourself and make positive change yourself. I use a range of methods to help you to get back to your better self, the part of you that can cope and is searching google right now, that will eventually bring you back to where you want and need to be.
Coping with it, identifying it's source and dealing with it, this is what I can enable you to do.
I'm experienced in dealing with clients with depression and anxiety, Please write to me using the contact form or arrange a quick chat if you are feeling up to it.
I'd love to hear from you and to help you to get well again.
Antidepressants are not always the solution
You may find yourself being prescribed them or may have been on them for years, but what is important is that antidepressants are not the solution for everyone and they should never be seen as a first-line treatment for mild depression. People experiencing depression need to know that there are a range of therapies available to them and to be able to access the treatment that is right for them, whether it's antidepressants, therapies such as Hypnotherapy, EFT and Counselling, or a combination of the two. Prescriptions for antidepressants have doubled in the last decade in Britain.
Antidepressants like Prozac raise serotonin levels but after several weeks the brain responds by making less serotonin. Withdrawal can be difficult and research has started questioning whether antidepressants could make mental health problems worse in the long run. Therapies can help patients deal with and release negative thoughts and emotions and provide coping strategies.
There are a number of self-help techniques that I teach to enable clients to continue to make steady progress between sessions. A key factor is that rather than mask the problem with antidepressants, therapies such as EFT and Hypnotherapy identify what is behind the depression and go direct to source, in order to make permanent change
